Staying Positive for Puerto Rico

Florida held a parade in Orlando on April 29th, 2017 for the increasing population of Puerto Ricans in Florida.

The population of Puerto Ricans have been increasing in Florida since 2000 due to Puerto Ricos economic crisis.

With 18% of the Puerto Rican population in Florida residing in Orange County, downtown Orlando was the prime area for the uplifting festival to take place.

The festival had a turn out of men, women, and children alike all celebrating their culture from the U.S territory they call home.
Organizers called this years parade "One of the most important events for Puerto Ricans in Florida"

Despite the financial crisis taking place in Puerto Rico, The Puerto Ricans residing in Florida were still able to have come together in unity for a good time.

Regardless of the fun and entertainment of the day of the parade, the Puerto Rican people know that they have a long way to go before they can have financial stability in their home Commonwealth.
