Knife Cuts- these are 3 of my best knife cuts. First there is a minced onion, second a batonnet onion, and third a sliced carrot cut at a 45 degree angle.
Kitchen equipment- in my future home I hope to have a Kitchen Aid mixer. I found it online at Best Buy for $230.
Bruschetta lab- we made bruschetta in class and added beans. We added the beans because we were learning about fiber.
Sauce lab- we learned about the 5 basic cooking sauces. Making this BBQ chicken applied because learned how to make the tomato sauce (which is one of the 5 sauces).
Substitution lab- we made banana bread substituting different ingredients to see how it affected the bread. We used yogurt instead of fat. It was interesting to learn what could/couldn't be used as a substitute.
