Ingoldsby Academy Update May 2021

Another very busy term is almost over. Thank you for your support again, joining us for another virtual parent's evening. While, it's fantastic that we can share progress with you, we miss having you in school. I took a walk around school today to take some pictures to show you how hard the children have been working.

We are incredibly grateful to the PTFA who have supported us in updating our school library. In the short time we have been working on our DRET 10 challenge, I can see such an increase in the amount children are reading and the quality and breadth of authors that they are accessing.

There has been much excitement in school as we've had two new members of the school community. Welcome to Tom and Jerry!

Eurovision has nothing on us!

Friday 28th May will be an 'Ingoldsbyvision' lunchtime house competition. All in good fun, children can prepare to sing a song for their house either as individuals or groups.

Non- uniform day

Friday 28th is also a non-uniform day. A donation towards the PTFA fund would be most welcome.

Year 4 parents

10th June- Year 6 Max Respect Workshop

Our Max Respect services gives lessons and assemblies about:

  • road safety when walking to and from the bus stop or school
  • what to do if you miss the bus or it does not turn up
  • using a bus pass and how to get it replaced
  • expected behaviour while waiting for the bus
  • how to report bad behaviour and problems
  • what could happen when children misbehave on transport

Wednesday 30th June

The DRET summer cup is planned for our KS2 sports teams.

Ever the optimist, I have penciled in a provisional sports day date:

Monday 5th July, 1.30pm

Monday 12th July, 1.30pm (reserve in case of bad weather)

Let's cross our fingers that we will be allowed to go ahead this year!

We hope to make this week a Sports and Health week, completing the Primary Running Cup.
