Neptune Robert Gibson

Neptune has a total of thirteen moons. This is a picture of Neptune's main moon Triton.

This is a picture of Neptune, the planet Triton orbits.

This is a diagram of the different layers of Neptune. Neptune is made out of gasses and ice. Layer 4 is the hottest part of the planet, the core. Layer 3 is a little colder, but is still close to the core. Layer 2 is very cold because it is so close to the surface. Layer 1 is the coldest layer of them all. It is the surface of Neptune.

Fun fact

The core of Neptune is hotter than the surface of the Sun!

Revolution and rotation

This photo is about Neptune's orbit around the sun. If on the right, the year was 2017 the next quarter would be the year 2058. When you move to the next quarter the year is 2099. The third quarter would be the year 2140. By the end of the revolution it would be the year 2181 having a total of 164 years and 10 months.

The rotation of Neptune is shorter than Earth's only taking 16 hours.

Fun fact

There are 60,200 days in one Neptune year. WOW!

Neptune has a total of 6 rings. Five of the rings are named but one faint ring is not. The names of the rings are Galle, Le Verrier, Lassall, Arago, and Adams.

The distance around Neptune is 96,685 miles.

Fun fact

The dark spot on Neptune that faces Earth is bigger than Earth.

Distance from the sun

The green dot on this picture is Neptune. Neptune is the 8th planet from the sun and is 3 billion miles from the sun.

Interesting fact

Neptune has invisible gravity that makes Uranus tilt on it's side.
