In addition, the judges named the following students as outstanding soloists: Eli D., Logan R., Kaitlin L., Mia G., Isabella D., Yirelis F., Ryleigh L., Felicity C., and Armando P. Congratulations to all orchestra students on a job well done!

Camerata performs right after school and will be done at 4:55 pm. Honors must be tuned and on stage at 5 pm and will finish at 5:55 pm. This event is closed to the public but will be video-recorded and sent to parents after the event. This is a required event that prepares our students for our real UIL recording on March 1.

Orchestra Supplies for class

Please help remind your orchestra student to have their orchestra supplies daily for class. We work on teaching the organizational skills and strategies and recommend a nightly routine of getting all subject work/laptop/instrument/binder/tuner, etc together at their backpack so there is nothing forgotten each morning. In the event that your child's clip tuner needs a fresh battery, we have batteries available for sale in the orchestra room for $1 each. They are also available at most grocery stores and drug stores. Thank you for helping us develop good skills for school and life successes!

Orchestra Registration for next school year

We are so proud of the progress of our students in this very unusual academic year. Now, more than ever, participation in orchestra helps students build important life skills like goal setting, teamwork, hard work, confidence, and the lifelong skill of playing an instrument. Students will receive 3 electives in 7th and 8th grades and should continue in orchestra next year as they will be able to try new things as well as continuing to build mastery on their instrument. Every year in orchestra has unique events and music. There is a place for all students to thrive and be successful in orchestra and we will hear all students perform and place them in an orchestra class for next year that matches their skill level. Students should place a "1" next to orchestra on their course sheet to ensure that they are scheduled correctly into an orchestra class. Click here for more information. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Zamora.

Advanced Beginner Club

Advanced Beginner Club for orchestra has begun and is after school on Thursdays until 4:50 pm. Students can earn an invitation to ABC by completing all of their bead lines for their String Basics Book 1. We do bead lines in class every Friday; however, students can send videos anytime through canvas inbox with the metronome at 80. At Advanced Beginner Club students learn advanced techniques on their instrument and get fun music that will not be worked on in the regular beginner classroom. Students may join any time they finish their book 1 lines.
