Farewell Note from Mrs. Nachazel

Dear JPEC families,

It is bittersweet for me to let you know that I will not be returning to JPEC for the 2019-2020 school year. I do, however, look forward to finishing out this school year with the College Prep students. It has been such a privilege to work with this student body and staff, but at this time I need to be closer to home for my family.

I have absolutely loved working with the College Prep students over these last four years as their science teacher. I have learned so much from each and every one of your amazing students and will carry those lessons and memories with me for many years to come. Our CP students are inquisitive, passionate, kind, and energetic. They are truly unique. I will miss coming in to this building every day and exploring the world with them. I know that they will bring this same excitement into the classroom next year and I can not wait to hear about all of the amazing things that they will continue to do!

If you have any questions regarding this topic, please do not hesitate to contact me at jenna.nachazel@jacksonpec.org or Ms. Holton at debra.holton@jacksonpec.org.

Thank you so much for your support throughout the years and for allowing me the opportunity to work with your students.

Warmer Weather = Lunch Outside!

As the weather warms up, we will have lunch outside whenever possible. The general rule is that if it is above 50 degrees and not raining, we will be outside in the courtyard area by the fieldhouse. Please bring a jacket or a sweatshirt to be prepared.

Dress Code Reminder

As a reminder, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets and shirts worn over uniforms that do not meet dress code specifications are not allowed. Coats can be left in FG classrooms during the day. Any faculty member of JPEC can address a student regarding dress code and all students are expected to respond appropriately. Ideally, students violating dress code should be addressed by their teacher during first block of the day, but are subject to correction at any time. Moving forward, if students are asked to remove a hoodie or sweatshirt (for example), but are found wearing it again later during the day will have to remove the item and it will be held until the end of the day. To avoid any issues, please help ensure your student is in dress code prior to coming to school daily.

Cell Phones In Class

Just a reminder to all CP students and families: the use of cell phones is not permitted in class. You may check your phones in between classes or at lunch, but they must remain off or on silent and out of sight while in the classroom unless specifically stated otherwise by your teachers.

Student Absences

Parents: Please be sure to call the front office as soon as possible in the morning if your child is ill and is going to be absent. It is important for us to be able to keep accurate attendance records, and this will help! The office phone # is 768-7093. If your student is absent due to a medical or dental appointment, please bring a doctor's note so we can excuse the absence. Thank you!
