California's K-12 Online Content Project Expanding student access to quality digital content resources

In Spring 2018, California's State Library announced new offerings of three online databases (Encyclopedia Britannica, ProQuest, and TeachingBooks.net) for all K-12 schools and student and free to districts starting in the 2018-19 school year.

Recently, on October 30, 2019, a press release was issued to announce the availability of a report analyzing the first year of this statewide digital content project.

How does access to these resources work for GUHSD?

At the start of the 2018-19 school year, GUHSD Teacher Librarians worked with ETS staff members to configure access for our district. Links to the California State Library's databases are integrated into and complement our district's other online databases listings.

When on campus, most online database resources may be accessed without login. To access resources off-campus, refer to this login information document. NOTE: The login information document may only be viewed when accessing with an @guhsd.net account.

How can I learn more about California's K-12 Online Content Project?

Visit the California State Library's web page (linked below) for more information about the project, including contact information to get vendor-specific support on the various resources.

As always, reach out to your school site's Teacher Librarian to collaborate regarding information resources and research. Let's work together to Open Doors for Students!
