The Swirls

I have created a swirled painting one with warm colors the other with cool colors. On the swirls I used an opposite color and made different shades to make blocks. I used acrylic paint and I put it on canvas.

I created the painting by dry brushing different colors on to the canvas. I also made lighter and darker shades of the color. I first made an outline of the squares and then colored them in with the paint.

The idea was to make swirls from a painting I saw. The painting I saw was with different shades of yellows and orange. This was my first attempt to do the project and was also my final project.

My goals were to have the colors blend a little but not too much. Have the colors be contrasted to the squares. My project reached and exceeded all my goals.

My overall thought were that I did really good on this project. During this project I learned how to mix blacks and whites with different colors to make shades of that color. My final piece is what exactly what I imagined.
