"Growing up, I didn't care about my life because I didn't know my purpose. It was a norm to see my parents hurt each other physically. During grade school, nasasali ako sa mga bugbugan. And when I got into high school, mas naging malala because I learned to cut classes, joined a gang, bullied others and cheated in class. Nung June 2016, one of my brothers, who was part of the Kids Church community outreach, invited me to attend a Sunday Service in Victory. During the service na weirduhan ako sa mga nagwoworship but at the same time, I felt like someone is embracing me and I wanted to cry, it was a good feeling that it made me come back. I also got interested na maghelp sa Kids Church as I saw the joy it brings sa mga kids. Then one day, someone approached me and started sharing the One 2 One. Every chapter of the booklet changed the wrong perspectives I have in life and showed me how amazing the love of God is. I thought Jesus didn't care about me pero mali pala ako because He actually took my place and died at the Cross for my sins so I can be redeemed. My life has changed as I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I realized that I can't find my purpose in life through earthly things but only through Jesus. My faith in Him grew deeper as I went through Victory Weekend. And it didn't stop there, God gave me the boldness to share the Gospel to my family and in my campus.
I thank God na nashare ko sa parents ko ang Gospel. My mom accepted Christ after I shared it to her. Pero si papa being half muslim, hindi agad tinanggap si Jesus. After 3 days, nag tanong siya sa akin about Jesus,I shared who Jesus is and what He did for us then tinanggap na niya si Jesus. Nag attend na din sila ng Sunday 2:30 pm worship service.
Last September 26, 2016, Every Nation Campus Mindanao conducted a God Test for a week. By God's power, I was able to share the Gospel to 43 students and 1 student teacher who all accepted Jesus. After that week, God continued to stir up the passion of sharing the Gospel using the God Test tool. Eventually, some students that I shared the Gospel with also started sharing the Word of God in our campus!
The following month, we decided to gather all the students who wants to attend the Youth Service sa Victory Center pero hindi makapunta kasi hindi pinapayagan ng parents. We decided to bring the Youth Service in our campus and called it a “Worship Day”. By His grace, Neil (schoolmate and also a leader from the church) and I did Youth Service with them, 48 students came and 23 of them accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Last November 15,2016, while I was doing my research in the library, our principal approached me and asked what I was doing. Fire in my heart rose up and I ended up doing the God Test. He accepted Jesus as His personal Lord and Savior! I praise God for saving me and for doing amazing things in my life, family and campus.
I used to think that I didn't have any purpose but God reminded me in Jeremiah 1:5-8 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”
Thank you so much for sowing in the life of Lovely and to the many other lives that God allows us to reach out by His power and for His glory!
