ATHLETIC FACILITIES
WEIGHT ROOM
Built in 2014, the Titans weight room is fully equipped for powerlifting, olympic-style lifting, and functional training. The 4,000 square-foot facility is exclusively for Titan athletes and is conveniently located down the hall from the Athletic Training Room and Women's Golf Locker Room.
WORKOUT REGIMEN
The Titans women's golf team workout three days a week.
- Monday - 12pm to 1pm
- Wednesday - 12pm to 1pm
- Friday - 2pm to 3pm
EXERCISE PHILOSOPHY
Great equipment is useless without a thorough workout program. At Cal State Fullerton we pride ourselves with workout programs that are backed up by scientific research. Our philosophy can be broken into these three steps:
- Step 1: Build a Strong Foundation (Stability/Mobility)
- Step 2: Build Strength (Strength/Conditioning)
- Step 3: Build Power/Speed (Golf Specific)

KATHRYN HOSCH
HEAD COACH
- A former Cal State Fullerton alum and student-athlete of the women's golf team, Coach Hosch is currently in her third year as head coach.
- Hosch brings balance to the team's dynamic with her experience as a player and golf analyst. She competed at the college level, has a background in scientific golf research, and a Masters Degree in Kinesiology.
- In her three years as head coach, Hosch has helped break multiple school records including the program's lowest tournament score, the most team victories in one season, and the lowest team scoring average in history.
- On the recruiting side, Hosch has put together a roster that's not only increased in talent, but also in diversity. Today, the roster consists of players from all over the world such as Sweden, the Philippines, Mexico, Japan, and the United States.
- Before her years as a head coach, Hosch was the women's assistant coach for five seasons. During her time as an assistant, Hosch helped coach Martina Edberg to the NCAA National Championship level, who became an All-American honoree and later earned conditional status on the LPGA.
- As a graduate student, Hosch worked on multiple scientific studies and tested over 200 golfers in the CSUF Biomechanics Lab. Hosch's interest of study was learning the kinematic differences in males and females.
- Coach Hosch married Jason Hosch in 2016.
MICHELLE PIYAPATTRA
ASSISTANT COACH
- Michelle Piyapattra was hired this past fall as Cal State’s Fullerton fourth assistant coach in program history. She brings competitive tour experience and golf knowledge from playing full-time on the Epson/Symetra Tour for the last 6 seasons and some LPGA events.
- In 2016, she won the coveted ANNIKA Academy Elite Athlete Award for demonstrating a holistic “winning approach” philosophy to her game during competition, just like Annika Sorenstam herself.
- As a professional golfer, Piyapattra has won twice on the Canadian Women’s Tour, 8 career top-10’s, and her best ranking was 39th on the Volvik Race to the Card Money List.
- Before her professional playing days, she attended Columbia University and graduated in 2014 with a double major in Political Science and Anthropology. She won 7 individual titles, was a three-time All-Ivy League performer, and was the 2011-2012 Ivy League Player of the Year. She also was the 2011 Individual Ivy League Champion her freshman year and won by 10 strokes and is a four-time winner of the William Terminello Award, which honors the team’s Most Valuable Player.
TYLER MILLER
VOLUNTEER COACH
- Tyler Miller joined the Cal State Fullerton women's golf team in fall of 2018 as the team's "Volunteer Coach" to bring instruction and advising to both the team and coaches.
- Miller's strength is his wide span of knowledge and experience. Keeping up-to-date on the latest scientific research and technologies, Miller stands out from other instructors in the field. He utilizes nearly all tools and golf technologies such as FlightScope, FocusBand, Blast Motion, SAMs Putt Lab, DECADE Statistics, and Swing Catalyst.
- In addition to his experience with exclusive golf equipment, Miller also holds multiple certifications. These certifications include: Dr. Kwon’s golf Biomechanics Training Program Certification, Scott Cowx Teaching Certification, Mach3 Speed Golf Training Certification, and TPI Level 1 Certification.
- His desire to learn has helped him understand how to develop players in all areas. On the short game side, Miller helped the team develop structured methods that encourages efficient practices through the use of Blast Motion.
- Miller's strong foundation in TPI fundamentals and Mach 3 Golf Speed Training encourages players to gain swing speed with a strong foundation. These training techniques are guaranteed to transfer onto the golf course.
NEALE SMITH
MENTAL COACH CONSULTANT
- Neale Smith, a former Cal State Fullerton alum, joined the women's golf coaching staff in fall of 2019 as the team's "Mental Coach Consultant.” Smith brings priceless experience and knowledge to the team that is hard to come by in the sports psychology industry.
- Known for his consulting on the PGA tour, Smith has worked with PGA tour winners such as Jason Day, Hunter Mahan, and Marc Leishman, who recently won the 2020 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines (as pictured).
- Smith's resume speaks for itself. Not only does he work with some of the best touring professionals in the world, he also has years of experience working with D1 men's golf programs including the 2007 NCAA National Champions – Stanford Men's Golf Team.
- Before his days of consulting, Smith played at the highest level. At the age of 20, after a career ending injury as a high jumper, Smith picked up the game of golf. Within a year of turning professional, and on his first attempt, Smith finished in a five-way tie for first at Q-school, earning his PGA Tour card.
- Smith currently resides in Southern California, but is originally from Sydney, NSW, Australia.
ROY KHOURY
GOLF FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
- Roy Khoury, a former Titan and Kinesiology graduate, joined the Cal State Fullerton women's golf staff in fall of 2016.
- Khoury has been a part of the fitness community for 20 years with a focus on post rehabilitation performance specifically for golf.
- Khoury brings experience that helps players on a one-on-one basis, and boosts the strength and conditioning focus of the coaching staff.
- As a fitness instructor and owner of Roy Khoury Fitness Studio in Newport Beach, CA, Khoury has become a local provider of education to numerous golf professionals and athletes.
- Certifications: TPI Certified Level 3, ELDOA 4 Certified Trainer, Soma Training Certification, Soma Therapy Certification, Functional Movement System (FMA) Certified, Selective Ruction Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Massage Therapy Certified in CA.

OPTION #1: [BRAND NEW] SUITES
These suite-style housing spaces are Cal State Fullerton's newest edition. Freshly built in 2022, these Suites house eight students in an apartment with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. Click HERE to see a video tour.
OPTION #2: RESIDENT HALLS
Built in 2011, the resident halls are designed to focus on the needs of incoming freshman. This option is less common amongst the student-athletes on the golf team and is not mandatory for the freshman to reside. Click HERE for more information.
OPTION #3: SINGLE APARTMENTS
Single occupancy accommodations are in four bedroom apartments housing four residents. All apartments are fully furnished with two bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. Click HERE for more information.
