Hello Everyone! I'm new to the blogging world (an amateur in many ways) and though there are hundreds of fashion bloggers out there, I thought this might be a good idea because I think I really do have an eye for fashion and trends. I work as a stylist at the very bustling city of Cochin, but am a designer at heart. I hope The Urban Goddess helps you see the new cuts, colours and fashion updates through my pictures and write-ups, and turns all of us city girls into veritable urban goddesses.
Turn Back Time !
For my first post, I thought I'd stick to the tried and tested combination - black and white. As soon as I saw the stripes at Seematti, I knew I had to have them. Of course, it takes a certain amount of confidence to don them as street wear in Southern India, but that's the thing. One needs such clothes when we feel like we're on top of the world, like no challenge is too daunting.
Paint It Red...!
The top is from Koovs and is in keeping with the current trend of unbalanced hemlines. The wonderful thing about this top is that the basic black allows you to pair it with almost everything else depending on your mood - florals, graphical prints, colour blocks, you name it.
I finished off the ensemble with a cute blue bag bought from the streets of Mumbai and distressed denim loafers. I think the blue saved the whole outfit from becoming too monochromatic.
A messy bun hairdo and circular shades topped off the entire look and I was ready for another bright day.
Since this is a new venture, I had lots of help. My good friend and colleague Pyarylal K.S. captured the amazing photographs ( trust me when I say, I do Not look this good in person, but those who know me personally, feel free to contradict that) and though she dragged her feet quite a bit, I owe some of the words to my bestestestestest friend in the whole wide world who has requested that she remain unnamed.Cheers!
