BIOGRAPHY
Singer, songwriter and pianist Daniel Roos (1987) was born in the Netherlands. Inspired by artists like Billy Joel and Elton John, he makes soulful piano based pop/rock. With his band he has toured in Holland, Belgium and Switzerland and as part of a hiphop group he has toured in South Africa, which inspired his songwriting both lyrically and musically. Daniel has worked with artists across the globe, such as background singers Sherlie Matthews and Jim Gilstrap (i.a. Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder), ex Bee Gees guitarist Vince Melouney and Defunkt frontman and trombonist Joseph Bowie.
Over the last decade, Daniel has been composing and producing music for theatre and film productions and he joined the popular Dutch comedian Sjaak Bral on tour through Holland. Daniel also produced his own theatre show, Inmusication: a musical theatre piece that combined live music with film, dance and spoken word/ poetry. He has also done several solo theatre shows.
Since 2014 Daniel frequently performed as a piano entertainer in bars and restaurants, mainly at the renowned Art Deco Hotel Montana in Lucerne, Switzerland. This has also inspired him to start his Billy Joel and Elton John tribute band: Piano Man Band.
After releasing several EP's and singles that received positive reviews in Holland, quoting “excellent piano playing and a soulful voice timbre” (Muziekwereld.com) and “five strong compositions, sung convincingly and with great feeling” (NTB Magazine on 'Blues Child EP'), the full length album "Catching Waves" will be (re-)released in 2019 and new recordings are being planned for 2020.
