Who was Harry S. Truman?

He was a American politician who was the president of the United States during 1945-1953. He was originally elected as Vice President until FDR died and Truman had to step in. He was president the year the cold war started. 

Information on Truman's Life

Truman was born on May 8th 1884 and grew up in Independence MO. He farmed for the majority of his younger life and became Vice President with only a high school education. He died at the age of 88 on December 26th 1972 in Kansas City MO.

Truman created the Truman Doctrine which supported other countries so they wouldn't turn to communism. He most importantly ran the country as best he could during this hard time.
