The Mansell (C) 3.4-mile track configuration hosted a multitude of familiar faces during our February race weekend. The weather turned out to be perfect for racing. The clouds behaved and drivers experienced two remarkable days of racing. Family, friends, and staff were treated to some exciting battles and finishes during both races. Club Spring Mountain members brought enthusiasm and raced exceptionally well throughout the weekend.
Congratulations to Brandon Rambo, who set the track record on the Mansell (C) configuration! Rambo set an impressive lap time of 2:05.5 in the Wolf GB08SM Turbo. When it was time to race, all eyes were on Rambo, who leapt ahead of the pack. Unfortunately, with two laps to go, he experienced mechanical issues and was not able to complete the race. This allowed Todd Slusher to take and hold the lead, ultimately finishing in first. Slusher continued his momentum into Saturday and captured first place once again.
We had a great turnout for both Miata and Lotus this weekend. Those participating in the Miata races were full of excitement, which was evident in their performance. Teddy Landau was the winner in the MX5 Division and Gregg Gorski was the winner in the Miata Division. The Lotus race did not disappoint. We had 8 Lotus racers on Friday and an impressive 12 on Saturday! Compliments to Jack Fried on his efforts to grow this division and to all the drivers, who participated this weekend.
