Father Larry Sullivan Honoring #HeroPriests

Father Larry Sullivan '92 (Archdiocese of Chicago), Christ the King Parish, Chicago, IL

Submitted by: Joseph P. & Eileen R. Donovan

By his consistently inspiring presence by video Mass, living his first sermon at Christ the King, "I love being a Priest," by affirming his vocation in person, and in his lasting healing through his reassuring presence to us all. We recall his many personal Holy Water blessings of every home walking and greeting all from our entire Christ the King sidewalks. This is in addition to his 6 in person visits to my bedside as a Veteran in-patient at Hines VA.

By every encounter by phone, by reaching out on internet and by his virtual internet presence at our consistent Christ the King schedule of Mass, Father Larry is Christ-like, bearing to us all Seven Gifts of The Holy Spirit.

Father Larry is with everyone in our parish family in our continuing need for his bringing Our Risen Lord to us, and in so doing is responsible for the return to the sacraments and Mass by many of our Christ the King friends.

His special Veterans Ceremony at Queen of Peace calling to all us Vietnam veterans brought actual grace and healing of losses to hundreds of us combat veterans. He will be remembered for this and for personally joining hundreds of us for the dedication of our U.S. Marine Medevac CH-46D helicopter BN153369 into the Dulles Airport National Air & Space Museum at Chantilly, VA.
