Copper is a chemical element with symbol Cu (from Latin: cuprum) and atomic number 29. It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish-orange color.

Ore is first mined, then put through a series of processes to refine and purify the copper. The USA is the second largest producer of copper in the world. The largest copper mine is found in Utah (Bingham Canyon). Other major mines are found in Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico and Montana.

copper is used for many things like... pennies and wiring. copper is also used for rings.

In the first picture to your left you have pennies.In the second picture you have a ring made of copper and in the third picture you have wires which contains copper also.

Copper is also a Transition Metal....
