Beauty for Ashes It's about setting the women's lives free

We are on the third week of my Marketplace Discipleship Training School with University of the Nations in Kona, HI. We already started to prepare for the outreach trips. My group will have two teams. 10 people will go to Thailand. Me, Oksana, Suyeon and Karen will go to Nepal. The project that we will work in Nepal with is called Beauty for Ashes.

Beauty for Ashes International, Inc. was formed in Nepal to provide employment for the women who became the victims of sex trafficking. This is a non profit organization which provides job skill training, education, and micro business financing to hurting and exploited women. Beauty for Ashes helps to break the cycle of poverty that fuels human trafficking and sexual exploitation through employment of women at risk. They also provide trainings and teach the women to take care of their children and have good parenting skills. The mission of Beauty for Ashes is to give women a choice where they’ve had no choice and make a lasting difference in their lives.

The office in Nepal is a wholesale gift items manufacturing business. They are focused on making high quality and stylish products as jewelry, bags, sari, and accessories.

Our job as a team will consist of various tasks. According to some intro information, our team will help with a conference that will take place in April. We primarily will cover administration and hospitality areas. During the period of staying in Nepal we plan to help Beauty for Ashes with the wholesale store operations and admin/marketing projects. Other times we will be serving at leading devotion times and prayer room activities. We are still waiting for more instructions, but Beauty for Ashes is already in my heart!

We have 2 months ahead but we plan to have weekly meetings where we will discover more about Nepal, their culture, language, history etc. I checked the Nepali language and it seems pretty okay to learn some basics, so by the time we get there I hope to obtain some speaking skills in Nepali. We believe that investing our time in learning about Nepal is to show the respect to this nation and a way to reach their hearts.

We as a team pray for our trip and ask that God shows us specific areas where we would be able to serve these people and be a blessing for them.

I would like to invite you to pray for our time in Nepal too. As well as if you are interested in supporting me financially for this trip, you can donate online.
