Preparing for the Holiday Season
- KEEP YOUR ENTRYWAY CLEAN: It’s the first thing people see when they come in the door. Wipe down your front door, give the doormat a good shake and be sure that dust, dirt and pet hairs haven’t collected in the corners and around the furniture legs.
- CONTROL THOSE HOUSEHOLD ODOURS: Sometimes it seems like you just can’t get rid of those pesky household odours. Pay attention to the places that collect them the most. Clean your drains to clear up any debris that might be causing smells. Give your garbage bins a good scrubbing and spray with an odour remover spray. Febreeze your furniture - providing it’s safe to do so. It’s also probably a good time to get your carpets cleaned, especially if you have pets. If you’re still in doubt that your air is fresh, brew a pot of coffee before your guests arrive. The aroma will help cover up any lingering odours.
- FOCUS ON YOUR KITCHEN: The heart of your home, it’s a place where friends and family tend to gather. Keep the counters and sinks scrubbed and clear of clutter and dishes. Make sure your fridge, stove and dishwasher surfaces are clean. And don’t forget to dust the light fixtures and fans. We often forget what’s overhead.
- KEEP THAT BATHROOM CLEAN: Keep the toilets scrubbed and the toilet roll full. Have fresh towels and festive soaps available for your guests to use.
