Elrod Villa is located on the site of the historic Palm Springs Racquet Club, playground to Hollywood’s most glamorous celebrities. Conveniently located at the north end of Palm Springs, Elrod Villa is just minutes from downtown restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Originally designed for Sigmund E. Edelstone (wealthy industrialist, philanthropist and art collector) by Hal Broderick of Arthur Elrod and Associates, this masterpiece of mid-century design has been toured by The Smithsonian Institute, The L.A. Museum of Contemporary Art and featured in Architectural Digest (September/October 1975).
The living and dining rooms set the stage for elegant entertaining with soaring ceilings, extensive use of indirect lighting, fireplace, bar, and Italian travertine flooring that extend to the outdoors.
The living room features classic mid-century furniture, a glass rock gas fireplace, walls of mirror and glass and fun, contemporary art.
Dramatic views are yours to be had day or night...
“When you walk in, you feel like a member of the Rat Pack loaned you his pad for weekend.”
— Guest Craig G., Nov 2015
Glass walls look out to the terrace with a luxurious tiled pool, oversized spa, desert garden and unobscured, panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains.
“Elrod was more than just a place to sleep... It was a home curated with functional technology, beautiful design and a thoughtfulness that’s often times missing from other home/villa rentals. From the moment you step inside, you immediately feel that the owners have thought of everything and anything to make their guests comfortable.”

“Staying at the Elrod Villa was absolutely fabulous! This house blew me away. The pictures don't quite do it justice...
The kitchen has every appliance you could ever imagine, the pool is not only modern and beautiful but it is also surrounded by a carefully manicured garden with stunning artwork incorporated in it. At night time everything lights up and is truly spectacular... The beds are super cozy and the bathrooms are beautiful.”

Space-age bachelor pad details abound—note the retro-futuristic lighting control panel just to the right of the wet bar. Speakers that power the villa’s thumping, whole-house audio system are cleverly concealed in gorgeous, custom hardwood cabinets, all as it was originally designed by Broderick.
Today, we continue to enhance the villa’s mid-century “home of the future” vibe with cool features including color-changing LED lighting, streaming audio (from our device or yours) and tablet-based control of the pool, spa and fountain. And, of course, there's super-high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house and about the grounds.
Beyond the living areas are sleeping quarters for up to six guests. The master and guest bedrooms feature full, en suite bathrooms and huge closets.
“This really is a beautiful house and, happily, looked in person just as it looks in the photos. We were there for a week, so we were very happy to find plenty of ‘essentials’—all of which were quite nice–dishes, silverware, bedding, towels, bathrobes (!).”
— Guest Mark Y., Feb 2016
Intriguing design details and artwork are found throughout the villa and its grounds.
The media room converts to a third bedroom with a pullout sofa and sliding doors which close off for privacy. What appears to be a mirror at left is actually a huge steel door—behind it is the guest bedroom.
“Elrod Villa is a blend of Palm Springs panache and the latest technology. The design elements are very well done, both inside and out. It's also very comfortable and well equipped. Reed, the local host, is very helpful. The owners of this home provide the best information you could ask for. Really, they have thought of everything! We greatly enjoyed our stay.”
— Guest Troy T., March 2016
As in the living space, the bedrooms feature glass walls that look out into the garden.
“My husband and I went to celebrate our 19th anniversary. This place is great, super clean, secluded, and private. We had a blast and will definitely come back again... Overall we highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to experience full relaxation, while being close to everything else. It's the perfect getaway! I can't wait to go back.”

Palm Springs is all about outdoor living. Dine outdoors in the garden. And the awesome outdoor gas grill is powered by the main gas supply—it never runs out of fuel!
Enjoy our private pool and spa—and for more ambitious swimmers, our larger community pool and spa are just steps away.
The cool fountain feature makes a soothing soundtrack while enjoying the patio, garden and villa grounds.
“The house has a wonderful view of the mountains and is conveniently located a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs. I will 100% return to this desert oasis!”
— Guest Alex S., April 2016
With its southern exposure, the pool is sunny all day, almost any time of year.
And at night, outside is “cool as can be!”
