Each quarter Bridgton Academy selects two to three athletes who have gone above and beyond - not only on the selected playing field, but also in the classroom and throughout the Bridgton Academy community. This award is appropriately named the “Triple Threat Award,” and is one of Bridgton Academy's highest athletic honors throughout the year.
One of the first recipients for the Class of 2018 is Marshfield, Massachusetts native and member of the Lacrosse team, Gavin Admirand. Gavin is an integral member of the lacrosse squad, as he has either netted or assisted on almost every goal from the Wolverines in the fall season. Gavin is consistently someone who gives the extra effort to ensure that he is bettering himself.
Coach Matt Nutley nominated Gavin for the award due to how he “works his tail off in practice and makes others better by making them step up to his level.” When asked about winning the Triple Threat Award, Gavin responded by saying “Winning this award was truly an honor, it’s always a good feeling when someone gets recognized for their hard work.”
His hard work on the field transfers seamlessly to his classroom performance; Gavin currently has a 3.75 GPA and has high aspirations of playing Division I lacrosse.
Bridgton Academy’s mission is to provide a program for young men in a unique, one-year postgraduate environment to prepare for the competitive rigors of college and beyond. Bridgton Academy is located in western Maine, in the town of North Bridgton.
