DeMarquis R. Battle who is currently licensed as the Assistant Executive Pastor with the Epicenter of Worship Church (Lansing) will officially be elevated and ordained with the Epicenter of Worship Church Fellowship. This momentous event represents the culmination of faithful service for over 11 years as a deacon, minister, youth pastor and equipping pastor. We invite you to come and celebrate this moment in history at the Epicenter of Worship Church (Lansing) on March 26, 2017 at 5pm. Please feel free to scroll through this site to learn more about my story and my time in ministry thus far.
Where did it all start? DeMarquis R. Battle was first called by God to serve in ministry while playing college football at Valparaiso University (Indiana). Through several life changing events, DeMarquis began to have a burden for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with his peers. With no local church to attend he would help develop a Bible study and was instrumental in starting Another Level Ministries, an organization that expressed the love of Jesus through faith-based services and events.
During spring break in 2006, DeMarquis visited his older sister who was a student at Michigan State University. While there DeMarquis went to the church she was attending and immediately, the spirit of revival fell upon him. DeMarquis knew that the next phase of his spiritual journey would be to leave Indiana and come serve under the ministry of Dr. Sean Holland and join the Epicenter of Worship Church. After his last final exam, he did just that. He packed up everything he had and drove straight to East Lansing, Michigan.
That fall DeMarquis would be licensed as a deacon and he began to serve in the ministry anyway he could. While giving his all to the Lord in ministry, God was preparing something special on the back end. It was here that he reunited with an old friend that he met back in 7th grade, in a college prep program. This young lady would eventually become his wife in Raynika Battle (formerly Brown). They were married on April 5, 2008.
The Lord began to expand the Battle family with the birth of their first child, Justus Benjamin Battle. This baby was considered a miracle as he was almost lost at 24 weeks old, but by the grace of God, he was saved through a preventative surgery that kept him in the womb of his mother. Eventually, Justus was born pre-mature and spent 6 weeks in the NICU. Through this difficult time DeMarquis and Raynika learned the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God. It is this testimony that fuels the power behind his preaching.
DeMarquis would again be elevated, this time as the youth pastor. His charge was to serve children from nursery age all the way up to teenagers. He quickly installed an updated discipleship curriculum and produced a new youth church service. His favorite memories of serving as the youth pastor are two revival services. The Presence, which was geared around authentic prayer and worship as well as Don't Bow, a series to encourage the youth to face the difficulties of secularism and idol worship. From that series came his first self-published book entitled Don't Bow: Standing against the Idols of our Generation.
As DeMarquis continued to serve faithfully in ministry, the Lord began to expand his secular career in higher education and his entrepreneurial endeavors as a professional speaker.
It was from his passion for ministry, education and speaking that he established Battle Leadership Group LLC, a limited liability company that helps the next generation walk in their purpose and destiny. For more information visit our website at www.battleleadershipgroup.com
In 2013, DeMarquis experienced yet another transition as he became the equipping pastor overseeing the Epicenter of Worship Bible Institute (EOWBI), Christian education, and discipleship.
In 2014, as DeMarquis continued to grow professionally and spiritually, the Lord saw fit to bless the Battle family with the addition of their second child Olivia-Grace Battle. The faithfulness of God has been overwhelming for the Battle family. The Lord has continued to show himself strong time and time again.
In his most recent elevation as the Assistant Executive Pastor, DeMarquis helps to maintain church operations, he facilitates discipleship and tribe groups, and has been called back to Michigan State University to pastor students at a campus ministry called The SUMMIT.
With the upcoming pastoral ordination, DeMarquis will be commissioned to preach the Gospel internationally. For him, this has been a dream come true that started over 11 years ago. We formally invite you to join us in this celebration and elevation for Pastor DeMarquis R. Battle as he officially enters the work of the ministry.
