A Joyful Semester at Moravia Park Elementary School

Thanks to you, 81 students took part in the Refugee Youth Project's after-school programs in Fall 2017.

Here are some of the things that you made possible:

Students extended their learning time and outside the school day in small, leveled groups.

Our three teachers (Ms. Hebert, Mr. TJ, and Ms. Agatha) helped reinforce important concepts to help their classes catch up to their peers.

Students also learned some new skills through music, art, and yoga lessons thanks to Ms. Susan, Ms. Warzer, Ms. Jenna, and Ms. Amy!

Students in Ms. Susan's art class learned about mask making
Ms. Jenna taught students yoga poses
Our Pre-K class learned a lot with Ms. Agatha
We took an awesome field trip to Rockin' Jump Trampoline Park in Towson!
Generous donors from Loyola University's Presence for Christmas program donated warm winter coats for our students.

We hosted a fun holiday party with crafts, snacks, and a movie during the last day of program on December 14.

And 70 volunteers--from Loyola University, Johns Hopkins University, Towson University, Notre Dame Prep, Institute of Notre Dame, Archbishop Curley, and the community-- contributed 580 hours to helping students with homework.

One day when volunteers were late because of bad traffic, Zebib (who has been here for more than 4 years) stepped in to tutor a newcomer!

You made this possible, and for this, we are so grateful.

From all of us at the Refugee Youth Project:

See you when we return in 2018!
