How students, parents and community members feel about Mrs. Daniels ....

According to Sheev Patel, a former student ....

Ms. Daniels is our 2016-2017 teacher of the year here at West Middle School in Tullahoma, Tennessee. I remember having Ms. Daniels back when I was in sixth grade. I had her at the end of the day and I was always excited when the time came for her class. However, what I waited the most for was to see Ms. Daniels. She was always fun and energetic. She would make learning fun. Back when I had her, I thought of her class as The Classroom on Fire. I’m not saying the class was hot, I am saying we would always learn a new lesson and be ready to learn the next. With her amazing teaching skills, we would make great scores on our assignments. I wish I was back in sixth grade with Ms. Daniels. Sheev Patel, Former Student

According to Elizabeth Arnett, a former student ....

My name is Elizabeth Arnett and I am a 7th grader at West Middle School. I have attended West Middle for 2 years. I was fortunate to have Mrs. Daniels as my 6th grade math teacher and my 6th and 7th STEM and GEM club leader. Mrs. Daniels is a wonderful teacher and has provided us with many wonderful opportunities. One of my favorite experiences was traveling to UTSI where we were able to have a skype conversation with an astronaut and hear about her travels to space. Mrs. Daniels has also contributed tremendously to my gains in math, so much so that I have qualified as a 7th grader to compete on our math team this month at the UTSI Mathcounts contest. Science was not one of my favorite subjects before Mrs. Daniels encouraged me to get involved with STEM and GEMS. She taught us so many different things that were fun and hands on that helped me to develop a curiosity for science. In addition to the projects, Mrs. Daniels also encouraged me to step up and take a leadership role in our school. Through the STEM and GEM program and the influence of Mrs. Daniels I am excelling in math and science! Elizabeth Arnett, Former Student

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Chelle Daniels for teacher of the year. I have had the pleasure to work as a colleague and as a parent. Chelle always goes out of her way to make students feel welcome and safe. She offers many opportunities for them to learn in fun and engaging ways. Teachers are not required to conduct after school clubs and activities, but Chelle stepped up and has an incredible group of students that are developing their skills in Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Chelle has been an incredible source of help to me as a parent with a child with severe medical needs. She has not been afraid to step up and offer to assist when others have been nervous or scared. It cannot be overstated how important it is to a parent that when their child is dropped off at school, that someone will be there to not only teach them, but also love them up and keep them safe. Both of my children have had the opportunity to learn from Mrs. Daniels and she is on their list of all time favorites. Chelle Daniels is an incredible representation for what a great teacher is and how she conducts her classes and herself. She is the utmost in professional conduct. Tullahoma is fortunate to have her and Tennessee would be well represented by Mrs. Daniels.

I highly recommend Chelle Daniels as Teacher of the Year at West Middle School in Tullahoma. She is very deserving! I have known Chelle for a very long time as I served as West PTO President for seven years and my middle son Darin, had her. Chelle is a driven, organized teacher who develops inspiring relationships with her students. She is a teacher that students want as a teacher. Chelle has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages, especially teenagers. Her ability to connect with her students and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. She also has excellent written and verbal communication skills with both parents and teachers. Chelle accomplishes all tasks with great initiative and with a positive attitude. I recommend her to you without reservation. If you have any further questions with regard to her, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am writing to express my appreciation of Mrs. Chelle Daniels for her multifaceted talents of teaching, leading and encouraging pre-teens and teens as well as parents. In today’s society it is rare to find a professional educator that is giving of their time to reach out to both students and parents. Mrs. Daniels directed a play my sons were participants in as well as my wife assisting. The pre-teens and teens as well as their parents witnessed her enthusiasm and dedication. She inspired everyone involved to “reach for the stars” in their involvement and production of this play. It was clearly evident that Ms. Daniels inspired her actors, parents and the audience. Some of the youth had never been involved in any performance; however, she led them to an outstanding performance in a dinner theater environment that they were so proud to be a part of. It is to also be noted that Mrs. Daniels taught our sons Sunday School class for numerous years. As parents, we felt a sense of ease in that someone with Mrs. Daniels’ character was biblically instructing our sons on their pathway in life. It takes someone with extreme loyalty to commit to leading youth. Finally, it has been an honor and pleasure to know Mrs. Daniels over the years. Her integrity, politeness, expertise, and dedication to education are highly visible in the character my wife and I have seen her display in her life.

I’d like to give my highest recommendation to Ms. Chelle Daniels, the science teacher at West Middle School in Tullahoma TN. In my position as the STEM Coordinator at Arnold AFB, I get the privilege of meeting and working with many STEM advocates, but Ms. Daniels is simply one of the BEST! She coordinates with our base to set up presentations at her school to include our portable planetarium (Discovery Dome) and has been an advocate for the FIRST Lego League program as well. Her enthusiasm for STEM is contagious and can be seen in her leadership with the Girls Engaged in Engineering, Math and Science (GEMS) club and many other events at West Middle School that leverage her partnership with the STEM Program at our base and the local University of TN Space Institute (UTSI). Her students are fortunate to have her guidance and enthusiasm and I’m quite sure she’s changed more than a few lives for the better.
