Visual Arts at Ravensbourne University 10th January 2020

A new year and a new step for the Visual Arts department!

On Friday 10th January 2020 Mr Fox Joyce, Head of the Visual Arts Department, visited Ravensbourne University on the Greenwich Peninsula in London to meet with Jo and Lee, key members of the recruitment team, to discuss and develop a future partnership between LPGS and Ravensbourne. This partnership is focused on developing our students knowledge of and experience of higher education and to prepare them on their career pathways on dynamic, current and emerging creative careers.

“First I got to see around some of the different departments and facilities on offer. I was amazed by the quality and standard of professional equipment on offer across all subject areas and the sense of collaboration across areas; this was truly striking!! I got to meet some really helpful and informative staff members who were very open and willing to discuss their courses and facilities. I even bumped into an ex-photography student, Hollie Lockwood, who is now in her 3rd year of a degree in TV/Film!”

The next stage is to develop our partnership and then begin planning future events such as, workshops, careers advice presentations, student visits to the uni etc. One development which will take immediate affect is that staff from Ravensbourne University will be present at our Sixth Form Open evening on Thursday 13th February 2020, when they will be able to discuss higher education pathways with students looking to join LPGS and the Visual Arts department in the near future.
