Greenbrier Junior High is so proud of our students and staff who worked hard to ensure we were ranked as an A school AGAIN based on the ESSA School Index Report!!!
Students from Mrs. Smith's 8th Grade English classes went to the library with Mrs. Tapley to learn about the Tom Sawyer novel time period, specifically the games children played during this era.
GJHS students rocked it at the Spring FBLA conference led by Mrs. Alyson Walls, JH CBA teacher!! Dillon Strader - 1st Place Digital Citizenship Ethan Hiland - 1st Place Intro to Parliamentary Procedure Claire King - 2nd Place Career Exploration and 3rd Place Proofreading Sarah Frye - 3rd Place FBLA Principles & Procedures and 4th Place Public Speaking Sydney Lehman - 4th Place Tabulations Hayden Coast - 4th Place 3 minute Timing Karter Efird and Claire King also won 2nd Place in the talent show!!
Greenbrier Junior High School was recently recognized by the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the 2017-18 ACT Aspire. GJHS received the following High School Level awards: Statewide High Overall Growth, Statewide High Math Growth, Statewide High ELA Growth, High Overall Growth Central Region, High Math Growth Central Region, and High ELA Growth Central Region.
Greenbrier Junior High School hosted the 5A Regional Quiz Bowl Tournament on Saturday. The GJHS team won 1st place! Luke Allison was also recognized as an All-Star player and invited to the All-Star tournament in March. In addition to going undefeated, these students put in some extra work before and after the tournament helping set up & take down buzzer sets, rearranging classrooms, and helping make sure the tournament ran as smoothly as possible.
Mrs. Gibson took BETA Club members to the State BETA Club Convention. Rikki Worthington placed 3rd in Poetry, Christa Neal placed 4th in Visual Arts, and the 9th grade Show Choir placed 4th!!! Great job BETA Club members!

Students must have a written note from a parent or guardian before being allowed to ride a different bus after school. Thank you for your help with this!

If you will require a Driver's Attendance/ Grade Form or an ACT Student Identification Form, please contact the school office two days prior to the date you will need it. We want to make sure everything is correct and ready for you to pickup.

Semester Exam Exemption Criteria

In an effort to encourage and reward students for attending school daily, GJHS is offering semester exam exemptions for the Fall and Spring semesters!

  • Students will be exempt from semester testing if they miss 3 or fewer┬ádays of classroom instruction (excused or unexcused).
  • School business absences will not count against students.
  • Concurrent credit courses require students take the semester exam.

  • February 7th- Pep Rally
  • February 12th- Early Dismissal 1:30pm
  • February 12th- Parent/ Teacher Conferences 2:00- 7:00pm
  • February 18th- No School
  • April 9th-12th- ACT Aspire Summative Testing for 9th Graders
  • April 15th-18th- ACT Aspire Summative Testing for 8th Graders
  • April 19th- No School
  • April 23rd- 8th Grade Scoliosis Screenings- Parents who would like to refuse the screening must send a notice in writing, no phone calls will be accepted.
