On March 16, 2017 Nike Factory Store Roermond officially reopened its doors after a successful refit! NFS Roermond transitioned to a 3.0 store concept and has a completely different look and feel compared to before. The store space increased by 250 m2 to a total of 1300 m2. The shop floor space itself is now 1000 m2 and an external storage space of 192 m2, located less than one km away was also added.

Providing outstanding service means making what is important to the consumer, important to you. Cornelius Bernard from Niketown London does this every single day. Cornelius received a personal letter from a consumer, thankful for the amazing service experience that she and her family received in the store, after the tragic loss of another family member. This act simply proved not only is he an amazing athlete, but a decent human being, caring for another human being.

After Cornelius’ story was published on DTC Zero in February, the Retail Leadership Team at EHQ decided that something personal must be done to show all the store teams that this kind of efforts are valued and highly appreciated. On Friday, April 7, Russell Anderson, VP/GM Nike Stores Europe, visited NTL, attended the huddle and took a couple of minutes to read portions of the letter which Cornelius received. After that he presented Cornelius with a pair of NIKEiD AirMax 90s and encouraged the athletes to demonstrate the same commitment, care and interest in the consumers, as he did.

Another successful DTC on-boarding week took place at the end of March. We had 23 attendees, 19 head coaches and 4 new Retail directors/retail managers all from our NFS business. The week covered our DTC strategic pillars through the lens of Brand, Consumer, Productivity and People, enabling the teams to be set for success in their roles. We had great attendance through our guest speakers and the teams attended the NFS huddle to meet and greet the NFS team on campus, a successful week with an inspired team!

WELCOME NURI!

We are pleased to announce that Nuri Ozkan has been appointed as the Operations Performance Reviewer for Turkey and CE effective March 6, 2017.

Nuri joined Nike in 2013 as the Assistant Head Coach of NFS Armonipark in Istanbul. After two years he got promoted as the Head Coach.

Nuri was the NCA territory champion for Turkey, helping to establish strong relations with schools and other communities such as Galatasaray FC. He organized many community events with more than 1400 kids. Nuri will be onboarding and visiting stores from next week, please join us in congratulating Nuri on his new role.

One POS roll out continues to pick up speed across the geography. Now more than 100 stores in 5 countries, across all dimensions have been upgraded from GSS 6.2 to One POS. #OnePosse is growing and receiving fantastic feedback. Tree Johnson from NFS Gretna Green tells us: "1POS has been great in our store because it is so easy to use and makes the transactions so much faster. On busy days we don’t have queues at check outs anymore because tills run faster and thanks to features like multi select it is so quick and easy to perform the transactions"

WFM research is now complete for all the FY17 countries and the Global Tech teams are currently building the system to country statutory specifics for roll out. In the remainder of FY17 training sessions across Europe will be taking place getting ready pilots to begin and roll out to commence.

FY18 Bottom Up Budgeting is in the final sign off stages with DOS's & Finance. As it stands the Workforce Optimization team have secured additional hours for stores to invest in driving service. The FY18 salary budget ask is over $130m and will influence the total stores payroll to the sum of $300m including fringes and bonuses.
