Packaging the intangible
The following are all aspects from the final project: Packaging the Intangible. There are raw sketches and ideas, mood boards and the refined works. I can't wait to see what you all think! --Quany
The design to production Process
The raw Idea
It all started with a craving. I was seriously craving popcorn when I decided that it would make a perfect product. I looked at what was happening in the world and realized that we need to be more tolerant of others' opinions. From this, POP Tolerance was born. The following images are from my initial thought and design process, from the first logo, mind-map and the initial idea of packaging.
The Mood board
In order to put the initial ideas together, I created a mood board. I concluded that I wanted my color scheme to be a black/white/grey theme, because white and black are at opposite ends of the color spectrum and grey is commonly associated with being a perfect melody of the two. I also included some current images of BLM protests so that I could really focus on that movement.
Doling out the kernels of Justice
Our company's tagline, a thoughtful and humorous play on words
Final Package design
Through Illustrator and PhotoShop, the finalized package design was created. From the broader aspects like the logo, right down to the details like a barcode, our product is looking shelf ready!
Honoring those Lost
If you notice, on the side of our packaging, there is a long list of names. All of these people are African Americans and have been killed at the hands of police brutality. The BLM movement aims to end police brutality, and our company wanted to put a spotlight on this piece of history.
