The Digestive System

What is it and what does it do?

The digestive system is a group of organs working together to convert food into energy and basic nutrients to feed the entire body. It converts food into energy because if your body doesn't have energy to function it can't function right which will cause you to die.The body alse uses energy to grow, and cell repair. The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients and drinks into carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vitamins.

How does it work?

Digestion works by moving food through the GI tract.Digestion begins in the mouth by chewing the food and it ends up in the small intestine. As food passes through the GI tract,it mixed with digestive juices, causing large molecules to break down into smaller molecules, which gives the body energy to function. The body turns whatever nutrients it doesn't need in to waste which is what you pee and poop out.

The Immune System

The Immune system are made up of cells, organs, and tissue and they work togehter to protect the human body. One of the most important cells are white blood cells. They are so important because white blood cells fight off the pathogen (a pathogen is a bacterium, virus,or other microorganism that can cause a disease.Vacines can help strengthen the immune system by putting a dead or weakend virus in you so your body can reconize it and fight it off.Another part of the Immune system is an antibody. An Antibody is a large protein that is used by the immune system to neutralize pathogens such as bacteria and viruses.

What is an Immune response?

An Immune response a reaction from the immune system to fight a pathogen off that got you sick before and it's gonna fight it off so you won't get sick again. That's why vacines are so helpful because it causes an immune response by putting a dead or weakend virus in your body so your immune system can reconize it and fight it off.

The respiratory system.

The respiratory system is a series or organs that are responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organ is the lungs.
