Watling Woods Experience: Wild Grasslands A Nature Project with Leadgate Task Force & Durham Wildlife Trust Funded by Project Genesis

On the 16th August 2018 Durham Wildlife Trust held a "Wild Grasslands" Event (promoted by Leadgate Task Force) in Watling Woods, billed as "Suitable for all ages, children should come accompanied by an adult".

The event was aimed at the younger population of the Village. They searched for the different bugs that live in amongst the plants and discovered some of the magical properties, myths and stories behind some of our best loved wildflowers.

As well as the local children who attended there was a group from Learning For Life Adult Learning Centre who really enjoyed this event.

Durham Wildlife Trust actively encourage local people to use the many wildlife assets throughout the county. They have two more sessions planned for Watling Woods on the 25th October 2018. If you would like to be involved in these events please click on the link below to apply for tickets to these and any other events they are holding in Co. Durham.
