Through Mystery Towns, Andrew aims to give travellers, tourists and even local residents a feeling of ‘fresh discovery’ as they follow the clues, see the sites and learn about the history of the area through a twist-and-turn storyline. Each plot showcases the well-known icons and popular tourist spots, while also hidden gems you would have otherwise not known to visit.
Andrew also works with and partners with small businesses in the area to not only give guests a truly local experience, but the opportunity to get to know the people and the faces that make up the heart of the town. Through the various storylines you will visit art exhibits, history museums, natural wonders, local shops, foodie hotspots and more.
Think escape room meets scavenger hunt, meets guided tour – all via your smartphone, and on your own terms! That’s right, each mystery storyline is accessible through an app and your smart phone is your guide. Through a text based app your team will work through a variety of clues - written and visual - that will unlock a story, while at the same time leading you on a journey throughout the town, highlighting points of interest along the way.
This is a great way to push your comfort zone and create amazing memories with your friends, family or colleagues- all while encouraging team building and a little healthy competition!
Currently you can find various tours in Canmore, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver, but stay tuned. Andrew and his team are working on expanding their offering to Banff, Fort McMurray and beyond.
Through their observations, small towns often miss out on tourist opportunities due to their layout, which doesn’t encourage visitors to explore past the main drag. They are always looking for opportunities to work with small communities, hamlets and unique towns that contribute our Canadian identity and have a story to tell!
