The 2017 doan brook photo hike October 21, 2017

This is an annual event in October, led by local photographer David Perelman-Hall. His work including lots of imagery of the Shaker Lakes is on the web at https://www.ExceptionalLight.com

Spend the morning of Saturday, October 21st exploring the Doan Brook while learning and practicing photographic technique, and getting a touch of history about the natural surrounds. The following Tuesday evening, October 24th, review your work from the hike with fellow hikers, and learn about the role Lightroom can play in digital photography. Visit the events calendar on website Exceptional Light to register for the follow-up review.
Learn about the in-camera impacts and uses of shutter speed and aperture. See how to use camera movement to get artistic effects. Learn how important it is to post-process digital images in order to get beautiful results. Bring your camera manual, full batteries, and a card with plenty of space on it.
Park at Coventry and North Park, and meet at 9:00 AM at the western end of the Lower Shaker Lake by the bridge. Photograph there, then hike the gorge and make pictures until roughly noon. Some hiking is mildly difficult and the wet sections may be slippery.

In support of the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership

The hike is led by local photographer David Perelman-Hall, some of whose work can be found onĀ https://www.exceptionallight.com. A $25 donation to the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership will be collected.
