Melissa Higgins' chemistry class preformed a flame test lab during third period on September 25. The lab was done to identify a mystery element by comparing the colors of the flames.
Senior Jillian Keen and sophomore Lauren Umpleby used barium or copper and produced a green flame.
The flame turned bright red when juniors Koby Durbin and Hailey Hutslar used strontium or calcium.
