Client Guide Nicole Olinger Photography

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

I am really excited that you have taken a moment to browse this client guide.

I want to walk you through a Nicole Olinger Photography experience from start to finish, to answer any questions you may have.

"What sets NOP apart from other photographers?"

Here at NOP I strive to give you a full service boutique style experience. I am here with you from planning a special session unique to your family, to helping you choose prints of those gorgeous images that belong on your walls.

Step One - The Consultation

The first step after booking is to set up a consultation. This helps me get to know you and design a custom shoot for you and your family.

At the consultation we will discuss what kind of products you are most interested in and I will tell you all about what amazing products I have to offer you.

It usually takes between 20 to 30 minutes and can take place in person or over the phone.

We will discuss everything from what you may want to wear to any special locations for your session.

"What should I wear?"

Deciding what to wear for your session can seem like a huge chore. Following these simple tips will help you chose the perfect outfits for your upcoming session with ease! Don’t forget to check your closet first!

DO- Choose a color scheme based on where you’d like to hang these pictures. Ex. If you’re planning on a living room wall display and your living room is decorated in earth tones choose colors that will coordinate.

DON’T- Match. Leave the jeans and white t-shirts at home and instead choose a color scheme and coordinate.

DO- Layer. The more layers the better. Sweaters, scarves, jewelry, blazers layers create visual interest and add texture throughout your pictures. They’re a great addition.

DON’T- Be afraid of patterns. Plaids, polka-dot, florals and stripes can be overwhelming when all paired together but mixing in a few patterns here and there are another great way to add some interest to you photo session.

DO- Pay attention to your shoes. Shoes matter! A pair of nike sneakers mixed in with cute boots and dress shoes can be an eye sore in your photos. Try to stick with neutral shoes for the whole family.

DON’T- Wear logos. As much as shoes can be an eye sore so can a big logo across a t-shirt. Try to steer clear of sports or brand logos or sayings across the front of your shirt. Again, this takes the attention away from the family and brings the eye right to the t-shirt.

DO- Stay comfortable! Especially for mom, pick something you love and build around that.

Step Two - The Session

This is where the fun and magic come into play!

We will capture some amazing memories together.

My style includes a little bit posed and a little bit Candid.

Which makes for great wall art that captures true emotion.

Are you dreading planning your session? Are you dreading trying to get all those kiddos to smile?

well, Surprise! Your session is going to be fun!!!

As a mother of two kids believe me when I say, I know how you feel! It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the planning of the outfits, choosing the perfect location and keeping everyone happy long enough to at least look happy in the photos. It’s a good thing for you that all of those are my specialties!

Here are a few tips as we begin to plan your session.

-When we’re deciding on a location think about places you and your family LOVE and have the most fun. This could be your backyard, the beach, a favorite park, in your kitchen baking cookies or at the fair! Wherever it is we’ll make sure to capture your family being your family and having FUN!

-When choosing outfits refer to the “What to Wear” portion of this guide and remember it’s likely you can choose right from your own closets!

-Stressed about convincing your child (or husband) to give the perfect smile? Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered. The best thing you can do to help make this happen is to relax and let me handle it. I pride myself on taking the time to get to know your family, to play and have fun. During this time I’ll grab the fun candid shots but also convince your child that they like me enough to smile for those perfect shots! After years of doing this I think I’ve got it down to a science!

And lastly, remember that I’m here with you through the whole experience.

So be sure to relax and let things flow!

"Nicole has been photographing our children for the last 3 years and every shoot seems better than the last! Her attention to detail shows in every picture and she's always patient and works to get the best pictures." Sarah S.

Step Three - The Reveal

This is seriously the best part!!!

I provide the snacks and drinks!

You will gush over a slideshow of your beautiful images!

And together we will pick out gorgeous products and prints for your home.

On reveal night you will get a huge discount on your prints and products.

"What is a reveal night?"

You’ve already had a blast at your session but now things are about to get even better! About two weeks after your session we’ll have your reveal night. On your reveal night you’ll see all of your images for the first time. It’s definitely something to get excited about!

That night we will meet and I will show you a custom slideshow with your images.

After you’ve experienced the slideshow you’ll have some time to go through all of your images and take a look at all of the product samples. Seeing everything in person will really give you a sense of what products are most important to you. My favorites are canvases and image boxes!

You’ll have plenty of time to ask any questions, to hold up images to different walls in your own home to see what sizes will work best and enough time to pick out your favorites.

The collections on the following page have been put together to give you the absolute best quality product for the best value. Those collections are available on reveal night only.

The goal of the reveal night is to finalize your order so we can get your prints and products to you as soon as possible. To help make this stress free it’s a great idea to take a look through all of the different products and collections so you can go into it with an idea of what might work best for you. Once you’ve seen your images that may change but it’s always good to have an idea when we get started!

When all the fun of the reveal night is over, you’ll have a short wait before you’ll have those images in your hands! You can expect to have your prints and products in hand within 2-4 weeks. When everything is in we’ll schedule a time that I can hand deliver everything to make sure it gets there safely!

“Nicole’s professionalism, patience, and persistence allows each photo shoot to be unique and tailored to the child’s, or in my case, the parent’s, needs. I don’t know how she does it but she manages to capture unique photos every time that really show the child’s personality. I am forever grateful for the images of my son that she was able to take.” Jennifer D.
