Upon entering Bowlounge, the customer is greeted with a rustic, broken down fence with the company logo painted on. With this being the first thing the customer sees as they park their car in the gravel lot, a retro and east Texas vibe is expressed, following the bowling alleys origins which originated in east Texas.
Bowlounge is based out of what used a to be a working warehouse. This location and building positively influence the family friendly business to express their retro vibe.
The bowling lanes were actually taken out of an older bowling alley located in east Texas. When I stepped into the building and walked over to the lanes, I felt like I had time traveled back in time about thirty years. The warehouse feel and the old-fashioned looking pin set ups gave off an eighties feel.
Bowlounge is open from twelve to twelve most days. With this in mind, outdoor seating is a necessity for a trendy bowling alley. Bowlounge accomplishes this very well. They offer two different outdoor seating areas for in case you might want to just spend your time outside in the nice weather. The different colored swiveling seats made me feel like I was in the only other place in Dallas that I can compare to, White Rock Skate.
Don't be fooled by the demeanor that this bartender puts off. When I entered the bowling alley- bar hybrid, the bartender gladly welcomed me into the establishment and made me feel not out of place. They offer a large variety of drinks and food that look quite enjoyable.
In addition to the extremely welcoming and friendly bartenders, the bar also supplies ample seating for when large numbers of people come to spend their night at Bowlounge.
Being based in the design district right off of Irving St, the company needed to fit in with the atmosphere of the surrounding businesses, which are mostly art galleries and other trendy restaurants. Bowlounge successfully shows off its artistic creativity in design by using bowling balls as ceiling fixtures. This makes Bowlounge have the retro vibe that it seeks, but also allows it to stay with current times and where modern day interior design is heading.

Bowlounge is a great place to go for a family outing during the day, and serves as a great late night hangout for the young adult scene by offering a trendy bar. During the day, the bowling alley attracts a largely different crowd than at night. This makes Bowlounge a place that every person would enjoy because it is good at reaching all crowds of people.
