EIP Team Wins Startup Competition Pinpointer takes top honors at UMD CONNECT

Pinpointer, an Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EIP) student start-up that works on international consumer location strategies in rural areas, won UMD Connect's start-up prize. Pinpointer was started by students Eric Wallace and Samrat Jha during an EIP capstone course. Since then, Pinpointer has won several competitions including CMNS's Fishbowl Audience Choice award, EIP's Terp Tank Audience Choice award, and the top prize at UMD Connect.

UMD Connect gathers over 200 UMD alumni, friends, and business leaders to celebrate business and personal connections at Under Armour’s City Garage in Baltimore. The event featured eight UMD student start-up companies competing for the audience’s vote. UMD Connect was sponsored by UMD’s Corporate Connect Council and the UMD College Park Foundation Board of Trustees Corporate Leadership Committee.
