The Youth Committee selected mental wellness for their objective for 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic, they felt an urgency to address the minds of their peers. With the help of the school district, the committee distributed a survey to all students and received over 1,000 responses. The committee is currently working with staff to post mental wellness messages on the digital billboard in the City (e.g., December – May) and record a discussion based on their survey findings with Senator Rubio in May. The committee hopes their discussion will bring attention to the youth’s mental needs and to bring attention to all the resources available to everyone. For more information regarding the Youth Committee, please visit the City’s website or email the City Clerk’s office at email@example.com.
