Islands are always dangerous because if you are living on them at anytime there could be a tsunami and the whole island could end up getting drowned along as with you. You also wouldn't have any telephone poles and wouldn't have any phone service so you can't call for help. There would also be no ways to book a flight back home or anything when u got scared cause there's no phone service. At night you would have no source of light except for the moon. You could also end up getting skin cancer cause you have nothing to take the sun off yourself. The resources are critical to cause you don't have a n unlimited amount of them. There could also be wastes in the water you drink so you have to make sure you know how to check he water and if you don't then you will have trouble surviving. When your on a small island like they are you have limited resources and need to share the resources. All they had were fruit tree's.

Piggy- 1- Piggy is the one the other boys used to call fatty but Piggy told them a story about how he used to get called piggy and he asked them not to call him that but they call him piggy anyways. (8 is where they call him fat boy). 2- Piggy stuck one toe in the lagoon and said its hot!!!(8) Piggy was determined and soon was palely and fatly naked. (13) 3- Piggy has ass-mar that's why his auuntie told him not to run.(9) 4- Piggy wears glasses. (8 and 19).

Rules 1- Travel in 2+. 2- Don't go out at night. 3- Share resources. 4- Clean up after yourself. 5- Communicate effectively. 6- Do your job. 7- Do not kill each other. The rule that I think is most important is share the resources because that comes in front of everything else because if you don't share resources the other people could starve to death or dehydrate a lot so you would have to share your resources to be able to do all the other rules cause you would need everyone to do the other rules with and if you don't share resources people could die then the other rules wouldn't really matter.

Theme- The theme of survival attributes to this book by all the boys being on an island trying to survive. They all have limited resources and lots of people to share it with. If they don't share they will have a hard time surviving but if they do share they could survive. There goal is for all of them to survive but 1 person has already died. There goal is to keep a fire going for a ship that comes by to see it so the ship can rescue the boys. That is there hope of surviving so if they follow all the rules I have listed above they could very well survive and get a ship to see the fire. One of the boys Jack let the fire out one time and a boat passed and didn't see the fire cause Jack let it out and all the other boys were mad at him cause he didn't do his job and they could have been rescued. The theme go with this book cause the boys are stranded on an island trying to survive with limited resources.

Ralph has said, “This is a good island” (Golding 35). Ralph’s pronouncement will prove ironic; it is definitely NOT a good island. This is an example of foreshadowing. What problems do readers already know about? Explain why these problems prove this is NOT a good island after all. It's not a good island cause the only food they have is very few pigs and all fruit. If they stay on this island and keep eating all the fruit which is what they have to do they are going to get even more chronic diarrhea. Ralph was being sarcastic when he said this is a good island cause he knows its not a good island cause they only have pigs and fruit and lagoon is almost to hot to bathe in and those are reasons why its not a good island.

Jack said the beast comes out of the sea. Simon says it is just themselves as the beast. I think the reason he says that is because he thinks there sicing themselves out and making themselves scared. Phil said that when he woke up he saw something big and horrid moving through the forest. Then they found out Simon was going out at night. Percival said the beast was from the lagoon. Maurice said that a squid could be the beast.

They have started going out at night more looking for the beats. They are not always traveling in two or more people. They have started walking out at night by themselves. We know from the book that for sure one person has already walked out at night by themselves. That is breaking two rules already. They know now there is a beast so some of the kids are trying to avoid the beast and the hunters are wanting to kill the beast so they might not follow the rules. They have also let the fire out a couple times and it says this in the book and that is breaking the rule that says to do your job. There job was to keep the fire going and i think its been let out twice already by different people. The twins were the one that let it out recently but they got it started back before anyone noticed. I think they still need to follow the rules and be civilized and the hunters need to wait until they have a plan to try to kill the beast.

The phrase I choose is the one that says "I don't". The reason I choose this one is because when someone don't agree with something one or the others want to do then they need to speak up and say I don't agree with this or I don't think this is a good idea. That will help gain control over some things that are out of control. They were getting out of control when the pig ritual started. If someone would have stood up and said I don't agree with this or said I don't think this is a good idea they ma have stopped. That would have helped gain control of the situation that was out of control. They were trying to reenact the excitement of the pig by using a person and that got way out of control. If someone would have stood up and said I don't agree with this or want this happening they might have stopped and tat would have chilled the situation way down.

Jack- The effect the beast has on Jack is Jack want's to kill the beast. The beast is on top of the mountain. After Jack and his hunters see it they have started preparing by making spears to be able to kill it when it try's to bother them. In chapter nine when Jack forms his own tribe he try's to get the others to join by saying they will hunt have feasts and protect their people. What he means by saying that he will protect the people is meaning the beast. It means that they will protect them from the beast. The effect it's had on Jack since the day they seen it is that he wants to kill it and be done with it. The effect could be positive and negative because the positive part would be when they kill the beast and don't have to worry about anything anymore. The negative part could be where Jack on focuses on the beast and forgets about everyone else and focuses totally on the beast and trying to kill it instead of protecting and feeding the others and following the rules.

Simon realizes that the boys have mistaken this harmless object for the deadly beast that has plunged their entire group into chaos. When Simon sees the corpse of the parachutist, he begins to vomit. When he is finished, he untangles the parachute lines, freeing the parachute from the rocks. He wants to prove to the group that the beast is not real after all. Simon stumbles toward the distant light of the fire at Jack’s feast to tell the other boys what he has seen.Shouting that he is the beast the boys descend upon Simon and start to tear him apart with their bare hands and teeth. Simon tries desperately to explain what has happened and to remind them of who he is, but he trips and plunges over the rocks onto the beach. The boys fall on him violently and kill him.

In life people create groups. These groups might be at school, in sports, in extracurricular activities, and through religious organizations. Explain what needs groups fill for people. Explain both the positive and negative aspects of being part of a group. You may relate this to our novel, or you may make it a person reflection of your own experience.

You can make a group of anything with anyone in it. The positive aspects of being in a group that related to this book is protection. In this book they think there is a beast so they are scaring themselves thinking their is a beast when it is a dead parachuter. But what I'm saying is if their was actually a beast and you were in a group you are protected by more than yourself and have a better chance of surviving. If your in a group it is also way easier to make friends if you get to know them. Another positive aspect is not being by yourself and being so board instead you have people to talk to and hang around. You also don't have to hunt and cook by yourself. The negative of being in a group is because it is possible to not like the people in the group your in and then the group will be no fun and it will be just like being by yourself to you cause you don't like the people in the group. Another negative is if the people in he group don't like you then you will not be liked or treated well or even protected well and given food to eat. It is always better to have teamwork then to be by yourself. A group is way more protective and safer.

“Which is better - to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?”

I think to have rules and to agree is more important. The reason I think this is because if you just hunt and kill and have no rules its all going to be crazy. If you have no rules and just hunt and kill then you wouldn't be paying attention to your surroundings and you could kill someone else thinking their the beast like they did Simon. So to have rules and agree would be a lot better because it would be a lot more civilized and you have a lot less of a percent to hurt or kill other people cause it would be at least half civilized. To have rules and agree is way better cause it isn't as crazy and is way more civilized. It would also be easier to get rescued cause you could have a fire for smoke and a fire for roasting meat. But now that the groups are separated one group has piggy's specs and the other doesn't. The group that has the specs just wants a fire for roasting meat. The group that wants the specs wants a rescue fire with smoke so the maybe a boat can see the smoke and come get them. If the had rules and agree like they did at the beginning of the book then everything would be fine and they would have a rescue and meat roasting fire for everyone. Instead the go off and separate and now only one group has a fire and that's for roasting meat. So rules and agree would be better for everyone in the long run instead of people getting killed and everything going crazy. To have rules and agree is better. They need to have rules and agree but also need to hunt some so they can survive. Now that the conch is gone they definitely need to have rules and agree because now they can't call meetings and stuff so they need to agree and have rules to be civilized. There has already been three people killed because all Jack's crew is focused on is hunting and not staying civilized. So if the have rules and agree not so many people would get killed.

I chose the phrase "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood" The phrase this is talking about is the beast that they thought was on the island.I know this phrase was about the beast but it could also be used for the pigs. So the reason i added this picture was because they could use the phrase "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" for the pigs. The reason I think this is because they needed the pigs for meat and to survive healthy enough to live. They killed the pig spilled there blood and cut his throat cause they cut its head off. I just thought this was the phrase I could use because it goes with the beast but i thought it was neat that you could compare to something else. This does go with the whole book cause they had to kill the pigs to survive. This phrase went with the whole book cause they were hunting more than fruit the whole time. With all the fruit they kept eating they kept getting sick. They wanted to stop getting sick and then they found out that there were pigs on the island and started trying to kill them. When the two crews separated that's what Jack's crew mostly focused on was killing the pigs and having a feast. The pigs actually had more to do with the book than you think because that's about all they had to eat besides all the fruit. So this phrase was the phrase i chose and i thought it was cool how you could compare it to something else that had to do with the book. I also was going to choose where Simon said they would get home but i thought this one was more unique cause I knew other people would choose the Simon one. So "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" or "Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" was my phrases.

I thought the novel was a very good novel and is a great book. This novel was a great and fun book to read sometimes you were actually wondering what was going to happen. It was a fun book to read and had a very good story to it. I enjoyed the novel either way. I preferred it when Ms. Lyda was reading it. The reason I enjoyed it more when she was reading is because she puts way more emotion into it. She also reads faster than the British man and is just a better reader than the British man. She puts emotions into this book and reads it way better than I would or even the British man would. The adobe spark blog was fun. The reason i think this is because it was easy and lots of easy grades. You also don't have to do it on paper. With as much as you will type you will be happy that she didn't make you do it with pencil and paper. There is some people that will still rather paper and pencil but me I honestly hate pencil and paper unless its a test. I would rather do tests with pencil and paper. This blog was kind of fun and passes by time. You also will get to listen to music when you work on the blog if you actually do your work and I think that is awesome.
