Principal's Newsletter Patton Middle School - September 27, 2021

Dear Patton Families,

I want to take this opportunity to thank those of you who attended our Live, Virtual Back to School Night Event last Thursday evening. A recording of the Q&A webinar is located on our CFPMS website for those who were unable to attend.

Our fall sports season is well underway. Last week we hosted several home games and meets and our Patton Athletes did a fantastic job. Kudos to our athletes and our fall sports coaches.

Please keep an eye out for your child(ren’s) STAR Reading and Math reports. They will be arriving in the mail this week. Please click here for more detailed information about STAR Reading and Math scores.

Have a great week and I hope to see you at one of our home athletic events this week! GO HAWKS!

Start With Hello Week

This week our entire school will be participating in Start with Hello week. Start with Hello Week is organized by Sandy Hook Promise, a national organization that is focused on preventing violence. This program is to help raise awareness about social isolation. Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely, or treated like you are invisible. Young people who are isolated can become victims of bullying, violence, and depression. Students all over America are participating in school-wide activities focused on creating a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their schools. Here is a video that we are using to introduce Start with Hello Week to our students: One Word.

We will have a different theme each day and will have different activities related to the theme.

  • Monday: Hey Day
  • Tuesday: Favorite Shirt Day
  • Wednesday: Random Acts of Kindness Day
  • Thursday: Wear Green Day
  • Friday: Spread Kindness Everyday!

It Just Takes $10

We are excited to kick off the new school year and get back to what the PTO does best - investing in the students and staff of CFPMS! For the past two years our largest fundraiser, the Spring Carnival was cancelled. With savings, we purchased an outdoor tent classroom, provided teachers with a classroom subsidy, and much more.

We are humbly asking each family that can, to contribute $10 to support the work of the PTO. Gifts can be made here: charles-f-patton-middle-school-pto.square.site

Photo of the Week!

So we put a keyboard in the our middle school cafeteria during morning drop off and suddenly our students seized the opportunity to show off their talents. It’s awesome! #PattonProud
