I've Got the Music in Me

Music has always been a huge part of my life. From when I was little, to now, my parents have usually had some type of music playing. Whether it was 105.9, classical on NPR, or just plain death metal rock, it was rarely quiet in my household. As a kid I could be found dancing around the living room with my dad, or making sure I was able to choose the radio station in the car. In 6th grade I chose to play the cello, and in 7th grade I joined West Middle School's Chorale, both of which I still participate in. Through Free State's orchestra and choir programs, I have grown to love so many different types of music- from singing in complete gibberish (sounds of summoning something, not literally though), to playing Smashmouth's "Allstar" for small ensemble contest- that I have new appreciation for. Everyday I listen to roughly an hours worth of music (maybe more) which varies from many genres. Music is without a doubt, a therapy, an inspiration and much more for me.
