The Mesa Group Employee Spotlight

Ten Questions

Meet Leslie Jones

What do you do in a day?

My tasks vary from day to day: which keeps me on my toes!

Who Inspires You?

My daughter Jasmin inspires me. She has become the woman I’ve always wanted to be. “Parenthood is about raising and celebrating the child you have, not the child you thought you’d have. It’s about understanding your child is exactly the person they are supposed to be. And, if you’re lucky, they might be the teacher who turns you into the person you’re supposed to be. – Walter Giver

What do you like best about your job?

I love the hands-on aspect of my job. It allows me to connect with my customers while gaining their trust and respect.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the young people today. I truly believe they will shape our country for a better tomorrow.

What’s the best thing about The Mesa Group?

I work with very capable, intelligent and sometimes competitive co-workers. I fit right in!

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

I recently took up golf, I try to get in 18 holes every weekend. I also enjoy a good cigar with a glass of rose champagne, reading, and relaxing on the beach

In five words, or less, what advice do you have for others in your profession?

Be the best you can be!

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be?

My favorite author, poet, activist. Maya Angelou “Out of the huts of history's shame I rise Up from a past that's rooted in pain I rise I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. ... I rise I rise I rise”

What’s been one of your proudest moments working at The Mesa Group?

When without hesitation Jim Smith donated to Friends of End 22, a non-profit, which for the past 3 years I’ve coordinated an annual golf End 22 fundraiser for active/non-active military and their families that are victims of suicide

What is the best vacation you have had?

When my husband Morgan surprised me with a vacation to Puerto Rico for my birthday. We went to the airport by Limo, but the driver couldn’t retrieve our personal things because the Limo trunk wouldn’t open. We got on the plane, anyway, bought new clothes and toiletries and had a wonderful time eating authentic Puerto Rico food and hit the beach every day!

I asked Clement if he is willing to do some levitation. And he was very excited about it. We got this shot in 3rd try. He loved this shot so he jumped atleast 10 times again. This one still was our favourite. A good 10 feet of sprint and pushing himself above the ground. Looking at this always remind me of the soundtrack “flight by hans zimmer”." • Lucas Sankey - "Stars and Stripes" • Alex George - "untitled image"
