Chickens By Collin mCGrath

There are about 65 different breeds of chickens recognized by American Poultry Association, but I will be focusing on two of my favorite breeds.

The Wyandotte is an Asian breed of chicken with a very distinct color pattern. My personal favorite is the silver laced wyandotte. The silver laced wyandotte is a black chicken with grayish-white spots as shown in the picture above.

My favorite chicken is the Buff Orpington. The Orpington breed is a very friendly breed and can be very broody at times. This chicken is also very friendly when placed in a new flock. Although they may be friendly, they can be picked on by other chickens in the new flock and can be easily annoyed when they are being broody.
