My name is Kylie Sandoval and I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. From a young age I was exposed to religious values of certain denominations, primarily, the Church of Latter Day Saints. Not being a part of this church led me through an adolescence full of self-doubt and spiritual confusion. When I was finally old enough to investigate all religions for myself, I fell upon these surprising passages from spiritual texts, that I have shared with you today. Having been an empowered young woman, for most of my life, I needed a spiritual outlet that fit that same schema and that is when I discovered Buddhism. Although I do not identify as a Buddhist (I am more Agnostic) many of the teachings have shaped how I live my life today. This is why my content may be a bit bias towards the positive qualities of Buddhism. In addition, I believe that women have the ability to be enlightened and that the omnipotent being, known as ‘God,’ is neither of the binary genders, but a creation that we cannot yet fathom. These religious views of mine were created from self study and I am happy to share all I have learned.
WHO I AM
On a more personal level, a few facts about myself are that I am a senior at Utah State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. I am a self proclaimed feminist who strives everyday for equality, which I believe can be reached by destroying the Patriarchy (just kidding! Kind of). I am a lover of EDM music and an active liver of the lifestyle, which can be defined as PLUR, to some (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect). My future goals include traveling the world, helping humanitarian causes, eventually starting my own, and helping inspire women all over the world. So, my first step was to create Goddess of the Gods and I can’t wait to see where this concept takes me.
