Alanna B. Digital Photography/ fall 2019-2020/ Strath haven highschool

This photo is from Lyons Mexico collection, I tried to recreate the serious feel of this photo.
This photo is also from Lyons Mexico collection, I tried my best to recreate the picture although we didn't have a tire.
I tried to recreate one of his many pictures of himself in the mirror. I couldn’t get it exactly perfect but it’s the same idea.
This photo represents a misperception people have about me. People usually think I'm a quiet person, or that I’m shy, which isn’t the case at all. Once you take the time to get to know me I’ll be the loudest person in the room. Zooming in on my mouth/ lower face puts all the focus on the piece of tape, I also used side lighting to capture this image.
Most people don’t know that I really enjoy drawing/doodling. I draw on my hands a lot because I think it looks really cool. This photo focused in on my hand and all the doodles on it, I thought this would be a better idea than just a piece of paper
This is just me. This photo was taken with dappled lighting from a tree and it focuses only on my face.
For unconventional beauty I took pictures of regular people, I did this because in my mind everybody is equally beautiful. Everybody has their flaws but at the end of the day everyone is special or unique in their own beautiful way. I also took pictures of things that are important/ represent my friend joey

During the course of the class I learned how to look deeper into things. This class taught me how to find the beauty in everything. There were a lot of easy things in this class but for me the easiest was studio lighting, I also enjoyed that the most. It was really cool to be able to set up a picture the way I wanted and be able to set the lights up different to get different shadows. It was really fun to put dramatic effects on photos with just the lighting. When I had first decided to choose photography I thought it was boring and simple, now that I’ve actually taken the class I realized I was wrong. It’s more complex than just snapping a photo, you have to think about angles, lighting, and so many more things. I really enjoyed this class and think I learned a lot from it.
