Eulogy Project By-Chloe Cantrell

Johnny Cade always had a nervous, suspicious look in his eyes. He looked like a little dark puppy that had been kicked to many times and is lost in a crowd of strangers. Johnny never did good in school, and he was nervous and sensitive from growing up with abusive parents. He rarely went home in the book, his parents abused him physically and verbally. Johnny was always scared when it came to being around the soc's because he got jumped by them and has been scarred ever since. Johnny was so scarred from that event that he started carrying a switchblade. The greasers were Johnny's true family and Dallas Winston cared the most about him. Dally is living proof that one can survive without parents or a family and Dallas was Johnny's hero. Johnny had been arrested before and he was the gang's pet. Before Johnny dies, Dally and his relationship is clarified by how Dallas tells Johnny that he's proud of him, that was all that Johnny had ever wanted. Johnny was the only thing that Dally loved and that's why it was so hard for Dally when Johnny died.
