Link Piazzo Dog Park Reno, NV

ERMYGAWD!!!!

This park is AMAZING!

We had no idea what to expect. We just drove there, parked, and walked towards to the park, and when we saw the entrance - holy cow! We couldn't believe it!

First of all, the air is so fresh and all you see are rolling hills and open sky.

The park is so big that even though there were a good number of dogs when we went, it doesn't even feel like it. There's plenty of room for some dogs to wrestle, play tag, others to play fetch, and those who just want to sun bathe.

While most of the park is grass and dirt, one side of the park does have low brush for those who like to explore, or perhaps need some privacy when you go to the bathroom. 🙊

I got to meet some Nevada locals and also get some zoomies out. Everyone, both four-legged and two-legged, was very friendly and a fellow husky was very talkative like me! We had a long conversation about where I was visiting from, what we were doing in town, how we liked it... 🐶

The husky dance

What's amazing is the park sits atop a residential neighborhood just 20 minutes outside Reno. It's a whole recreational park, so there's a children't playground, picnic tables, equestrian arena, and trails that allow dogs on leash.

Even though we went in January it wasn't too cold. The air was crisp - just the way I like it.

I always watch out for mom.

Wait! Don't go exploring without me!

Since the park is so big every side has a sitting area. I imagine in the summers it gets pretty hot out here.

If only we had enough space in San Francisco for a park like this!

Heavy duty shovel...just in case.

Directions to the park can be a but misleading. If you're interested in visiting make sure to map to Hidden Valley Regional Park. This way all you have to do is drive past the park's formal entrance, towards the tennis courts and then you'll see the dog park.

We were only here for about an hour but I still dream about this place.

Your fur parents want to know:

  • Yes, there is parking
  • Yes, this is an off-leash park
  • Yes, this is a fenced enclosure
  • Yes, there is a separate area for small dogs (although this park is so big there were plenty of small dogs in the big dog area and it was fine)
  • Yes, there are doggy (and human) water fountains (although when we went there was no running water)
  • Yes, there are poop bags
  • Yes, there are trash bins
  • Yes, there are benches
  • Unsure, about toilets
