For both my Los Angeles trip last week and yesterday in Tucson it was sunny and 72F degrees, but now it's February 1st and I'm back in New York City staying on the "UES" for a good long while. Nice of course, city living - except for the bitter cold weather part. Also: frostbite. With the wind chill my new DAME 5by5 Facial Cream Intense Moisture Coat comes to mind. Favorite daughter recommended. Just amazing and like nothing you've experienced before. Ahhh and on to perfume for winter day love... the new magical JD Labdanum Doux Noir Femme eau de parfum has arrived; and with the new DAME CHILEHEAD Artist Collection scent coming next month in March I expound a little bit here on Green Chile vs. Red Chile. There's also a Behind The Scenes [BTS] look at the latest JD JEFFREY DAME photo shoot in Tucson with Hillary Grey Ingells.

Dad started with a GREEN CHILE gouache paint theme. The color break just didn't connect for me with the fragrance development formula and I went down several perfume recipe dead ends. I just could not get the scent to work. It happens. Disappointed, the art stayed green for two years in 2016 and 2017. Every few months dad would ask "Hey, what ever happened to that CHILEHEAD scent?" Ummm..
Last year in 2018 I asked dad to change the CHILEHEAD color break to red which he did in a day of course, and the resulting art change to red "released" me emotionally and creatively and I was finally able to complete the CHILEHEAD formula this past fall.
"and here we are."
From the DAME Artist Collection
A blend of lime, chile, cumin, bergamot, celery, peppermint, thyme, neroli, galbanum, geranium, artemisia, ylang ylang, olibanum, labdanum, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, birch tar, tree moss, castoreum, civet, myrrh and musk. For a woman or a man.
"Let's talk photography."
To keep my creative juices flowing I've started photographing some of the DAME advertising campaigns myself. It is both a joy and a challenge. I've always been a photo hobbyist and brought my Nikon with me most everywhere for fun. Shooting as a semi-pro for the brand though is both fun and really hard work. Upgrading the gear was the easy part...a higher end DSLR body and an investment in lenses. The real work is in everything else which an audience doesn't really see as they scroll along your images. Thinking up the visual concepts, a look, months of location scouting, models, make-up artists, wardrobes, logistics, timing, weather. Good images have deep planning in my world. Then add in post-shoot image editing and you have a full-blown effort that you're trying to do in your spare time.
"Then, sometimes you get really lucky as I did with the talented and most fabulous model Hillary Grey Ingells and a perfect breezy late January afternoon in downtown Tucson Arizona USA where we shot the latest campaign for my new JD JEFFREY DAME Noir Femme collection."
