Hey, my name's James Atwell and I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm currently in my first year of pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology here at Clemson. I plan to go to grad school after I graduate in order to pursue a doctoral degree in psychology and eventually run my own private practice.

First things first, I'm a competitor. I love going head to head in pretty much anything, whether it be through sports, video games, or just day to day activities. You name it, I'll take you on. I may not always win but I still love to play. As a result of my love for competition, I watch and play a lot of sports. My favorites are soccer, football, basketball, golf, and running, but I could absolutely get invested in watching something random like an international curling match or even a good game of checkers.

I'm also a big music guy. I've played the cello since the 5th grade, and my junior and senior years I was first stand of my section. I took a lot of pride in being a leader and making sure our sound was special. I like to listen to pretty much all types of music, but my favorites are probably rap, edm, and classic rock. 9 times out of 10 if you see me walking around campus I'll be jamming out with my earbuds in.

I also love being able to travel with my family whenever I can. In the past couple years I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity go to places like Utah, Hawaii, Turks and Caicos, and more recently, London, Paris, and Cancun. Being able to go and see different parts of the world has been such a genuinely fantastic experience that I am extremely thankful for.

Being part of a great friend group has always been an important part of who I am. Pretty much any free time I have I spent with my friends. Even though we're all scattered across the country at a bunch of different universities, we still talk all the time and hang out when we can. I miss my peeps a lot but I'm already enjoying making so many new friendships here at Clemson.
