KEY FACTORS WHICH AFFECTED YOUR CHOICE

Key factors that affected what product to buy and from which brand to buy it from included the look, capacity and size, branding, product reviews and if it had important features that I wanted. This included an ice maker and water dispenser. The price at first did not affect my choice. I wanted to choose a fridge on its quality and reliability. However, when deciding which shop to purchase from, price was the main factor in determining where to buy the product as the price of the Fisher & Paykel 519L French Door Refrigerator varied with different stores having different prices.

Here is how each of the components affected which product I was going to buy

LOOK

I wanted a good looking fridge as I spend most of my time in the kitchen and when we have guests over they are normally around the kitchen area. The fridge also needed to fit in with the style and colour of the other appliances. This meant I needed to look for a stainless steel fridge.

CAPACITY AND SIZE

I needed a large fridge which can hold all the food and drinks my family and I need. This is important as there are 5 people in my family. It was also important to have a larger fridge section than the freezer section because we live close to shops where we can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and meat easily. This means we would use the fridge section more often as we would eat the food within in a week so it would not need to be placed in the freezer. It was also essential for it to fit in the space where the fridge would be placed.

TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES

I really wanted my fridge to include a ice maker and a water dispenser. This would allow us to have easy access to distilled cold water and ice cubes. This is important for summer as it would be really easy to get a quick cold glass of water to cool down. I also wanted my fridge to be able to keep my food fresher for longer. This fridge has humidity controlled crisper bins. This would allow the expensive vegetables to last longer. This would also allow us to save money by reducing waste.

BRANDING

I wanted it to be a well known brand as I wanted to know as much as possible about what I would be buying. My family already have many Fisher and Paykel products. These products worked efficiently and lasted a long time. I knew Fisher and Paykel represented high quality.

PRODUCT REVIEWS

These were important as I wanted to know for sure if the quality of the fridge was what they were saying in the shops. I wanted to make sure it was a safe and reliable fridge which was supported by good warranties.. It was also important to know if the fridge was durable. This was important as I did not want to buy a new fridge within a short period of time.

These are some of the reviews I looked at when coming to my decision

The choice magazine, which reviews and tests products, reviewed this fridge in the February 2017 edition. Choice gave this fridge an overall score of 71 out of 100. The satisfaction score was 86 out of 100, the service score was 78 out of 100 and the brand reliability score was 87 out of 100.

OUTLINE WHERE I WILL BUY THE GOOD

Firstly I wanted to see which two stores were convenient for me. I found that Harvey Norman and The Good Guys were the two closet stores to where I live.

When coming to a final decision I needed to compare the delivered prices between the different stores. I found that the refrigerator I was looking for was cheaper at The Good Guys coming to a cost of $1748.00. It was more expensive at Harvey Norman coming to a cost of $1999

Location of The Good Guys - This is where I will be purchasing my Fisher and Payel Fridge

IDENTIFY TWO ALTERNATE METHODS OF PAYMENT. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES. WHICH METHOD WILL I USE?

The final payment method I would use to pay for my Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator would be using a credit card. This is because you don't need to pay straight away, it would be charged to your line of credit, so if you wanted to, you could pay a month later. A credit card also allows you to deal with large payments so it is also important that a credit card is more secure as you don't have to walk around with $2000 in your wallet.

PROCESS OF RESOLVING THE ISSUE - YOUR GOOD THAT YOU RECEIVED WAS FAULTY.
