Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day: Students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue on Monday.

Penny Wars: We had a great time raising money for the United Way and dressing up. The results are not final, but Mr. Buckalew dominated most of the week. Thanks for your generosity. A special thanks to our PTO for arranging this.

School Closed to Students Nov. 19, 2019

Due to circumstances that were unforeseen when the 2019-2020 school calendar was adopted, Greenfield-Central Schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 19th.

Therefore, in order that we may provide a safe and meaningful day of learning for our students, Tuesday, November 19th will be an eLearning day.

Holiday Assistance Applications

Holiday Assistance: Applications will be available from Mrs. Hall, our school counselor, from October 28 - November 15. Families, churches, or organizations who wish to sponsor a family in need should also contact Mrs. Hall, school counselor at Harris Elementary. You can reach her by calling the school or emailing her at khall@gcsc.k12.in.us

Kids Talk: Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation is pleased to partner with Kids Talk through Aspire Indiana to bring a program called Body Boundaries to all of our K-6th grade students this school year. Body Boundaries is an evidenced-based prevention program for students that educates children on body safety as well as digital media safety. For more information please click on the button below.

Field Trips and Parent Volunteers

If you plan to attend a field trip with your student, you must have a background check on file. Please complete the Volunteer Application for this background check. The system has a delay, so you want to be sure to take care of this well in advance. The link is below.

Parent Volunteers: Our volunteer profile form is available for the 19-20 school year. Just click the link below! You have to be approved to work as a classroom volunteer and to chaperone field trips. The system has a delay, so you want to be sure to take care of this well in advance of volunteering.

Lunch Accounts: You may put lunch money in your child's account at www.ezschoolpay.com. There is a small fee and you will need your child's student number found in PowerSchool. Lunch money may also be submitted by check. Please be sure to keep your child's lunch account in good standing. Additionally, our cafeteria computer system does not have the capabilities to put a "block" on student lunch accounts for purchasing extra lunch items. Please talk to your child if you do not want them purchasing extra items.

Lunch Visits: If you plan to visit during lunch, please remember that school rules apply for students: students must remain in their assigned seat, follow cafe rules, ask to use the restroom and remain in the cafe. Any food brought should only be shared with your student. Due to food allergies and illness, please do not share food with other students.

PTO: At our November meeting, we planned the winter movie event for Dec. 12 after school. The next PTO Meeting at Harris is Jan. 15 @ 2:30 PM here at Harris. We hope you can join them.

Attendance: We encourage all of our students to attend school whenever they are well enough to do so. Good school attendance is important in helping students achieve academic and social/emotional success.
