Explain clearly how you respond to need – not just what needs are and what you do but the connection.
There should be a clear line running from what you know about your beneficiaries to the sums you are asking for; because they have these special needs we have to have skilled (i.e. higher paid) workers, larger spaces, particular materials.
Never presume a funder understands your frontline work. Even if they do they need to know you understand it too. A project plan shows how you are going to make your service/activity develop.
Remember, if your facts are not written into the bid you won’t compete well.
